SWIMMING POOL RULES
1. Weather permitting, the swimming pool will open on the Saturday before Memorial Day and will remain open seven (7) days per week through Labor Day. Pool hours between Memorial Day and Labor Day are as follows: Monday through Sunday 10am to 9pm (with the hours shortened in August when school resumes)
2. During the Swim & Dive Team season, the pool will open Monday through Friday at 9:00 am for practice only.
3. Management and/or lifeguards have the right to close the pool at any time it is, in their opinion, hazardous or potentially hazardous for swimmers to use the pool. There may be times when some pools are closed while others are open.
4. In the event of rain, the pool may remain open as long as there is no thunder or lightning. If lightning is detected by the ThorGuard System, the horn will sound and the Red Light will activate. Everyone must evacuate the pool and seak shelter until the All Clear (3 short blasts) sounds.
5. The pool will not be opened if the outdoor temperature is 70 degrees or below. Please call the pool office (828-1623) for verification. Any time the pool is closed for any reason after 6:30pm, the pool will remain closed for the remainder of the evening.
6. All members must register their guests at the Desk when entering the pool. The member must accompany their guest(s) to the pool for their entire stay unless they have purchased a Guest Pass in advance. Guest Passes must be presented at the registration desk. For the safety of our younger guests, children under twenty-one (21) years of age shall be required to wear a wristband for the duration of their day at the pool.
7. All children (age nine [9] and under), whether a qualified swimmer or not, must be accompanied by a qualified supervisor. In the absence of a parent, children may be accompanied to the pool and supervised by a sitter. Qualified supervisors of children must be at least fifteen (15) years of age or older and will not be charged a guest fee. Exceptions to the unsupervised minimum age are made for "club supervised events" (i.e.: swim and dive team practices and for private lessons), but only for the duration of their scheduled practice times.
8. Parents and qualified supervisors are reminded that they are responsible for small children using the baby pool. During periods of maximum use, children seven (7) years of age and older are not permitted in the baby pool.
9. No breakable bottles or glass containers of any kind will be permitted in the pool, on the deck or in the bathhouse area.
10. Absolutely no smoking allowed in the pool building or within the fenced pool area.
11. Children who are not toilet-trained must wear protective water-tight bathing suits when in the pool.
12. Special arrangements can be made for using the pool for a pool party. Subject to the size and scheduled activities, parties can be held during normal pool hours or arrangements can be made for after hours. During normal pool hours, the only charge imposed is for guest fees. Outside of normal pool hours, there is an additional charge for lifeguards.
13. Cutoff blue jeans and/or jean shorts are not permitted in the swimming pool.
14. Only one diver is allowed on any diving board at any time. All dives must be executed from the front edge of the diving board. Cross diving or swimming under the diving boards is prohibited.
a. One bounce on the board unless accompanied by diving coach. b. Swimmers are not allowed to hang out in the water at the back of the diving well. c. Flotation aids are not allowed in the diving well. d. No toys! (Including tubes, fins and boards) e. One person on the ladder (including steps) at a time! f. Jump straight off the board. g. Wait until the person is to the side before the next person jumps. h. No running on the board. 15. Running, pushing and horseplay are not permitted at any time. 16. Sitting or hanging on the lane lines is not permitted. 17. The lap lane is reserved ONLY for adult swimmers whenever they are present. 18. Club management, pool manager and lifeguards have full authority to oversee the use of the pool and its operation. In the event inappropriate behavior is observed, lifeguards have the authority to enforce these pool rules.
